Not bad we can improve this and remember the cup game we won is not on here.

Lisvane Panthers v Thornhill 22/4/10

The final crunch match of the season, and what a finaleit was. as always thornhill started superbly with attacking football leading to a host of chances. However Lisvane had a grudge to settle after we beat them earlier in the season.

It ended with Lisvane in front but we had the final laugh as Jack made a heroic save of a penalty. Well done lads It has been a great season. I hope you have enjoyed the games and we have made a big improvement on last year. Next year we will do even better!!

Marlbro White v Thornhill B 20/4/10

An important game that again we started well, lots of memorable moments but Shaun's goal from jakes corner probably was the best bit. unfortunatly although it was a tight game Marlbro got the better of it in the end. End of seasonn injuries take their toll.

Thornhill B V Marlbro Black 17/4/10

A lovely hot day for the spectators but unfortunatly no goals for Thornhill. Just one of those days where nothing seemed to go right for us, again plenty of injuries on the hard pitch. Not many games left now so we have to focus a bit more and challenge for the ball.

Thornhill B V Trowbribge 12/4/10

This one should have been a good game for us and all started well with Jake lobbing the keeper during the first minute. Trowbridge however had plans of their own. The game was tight and we should have done better but a massive injury tally took us down to 10 on the pitch and some of them were not 100%. Andrew scored a belter with a long range hit but it ended 5-2.

Thornhill B V Urdd 10/4/10

Urdd are top of the league and we were a bit depleted on numbers so took a bit of a beating. Nice to see Adam get some goals though.

Thornhill B v Avenue Hotspur 20/3/10

In our last match againt avenue we took a bit of a beating, but todays game was a very different story. Thornhill started brightly despite the poor state of the weather and pitch. We created some great chances that unfortunatly did'nt go in, a slippery pitch and waterlogged goalmouth didnt help our shooting. The defence were rock solid with Dave giving it his all and Harry giving rather too much! Jake and James were playing great football on the wings and Nozza was proving a handfull in the middle. Jack also kept us in the game with some brilliant work in goal. By half time there was still no score.

the second half saw an early goal for avenue and thornhill started to look a little tired. again we created a number of chances Adam nearly had one after a lovely move by Chris and Jake but avenue got a couple more before we saw Chris turn and shoot to put one in the top corner, probably his best of the season. The game finished 4-1 but I think we all know how much we have improved, Avenue are third in the league and we pushed them all the way. Well done everyone.

Thornhill B v Canton Rangers 13/3/10

Thornhill went out on this game expecting a better result than in our last encounter. The first half went well with only a few slip ups that led to a 2-0 scoreline. The football was good but unfortunatly the chances did'nt come and the game finished slowly with no score for Thornhill.

Thursday 11 March 2010

Thornhill B v Marlbro Black 6/3/10

This football match is one that I personally feel we should have won. There were some great moments in this game, notably Jakes free kick that was nearly in during the first half, and james M hitting the bar from range. unfortunatly though in the last 20 minutes we lost our discipline and so lost shape. Well done for trying hard and being passionate abuot the game but lets show our spirit with our Football, not by getting stroppy! We should als celebrate the fact that with the own goal we got today we are now on 40 goals this season.

Marlbro Black v Thornhill B 15/2/10

The match today was always going to be close, but as a spectator this was incredible.

Thornhill started brightly with some nice football and it was only about 10 minutes before Shaun scored from a beautifully struck free kick by Jake. The game then slowed and eventually Marlbro took their chance and got one back. Andrew kept us in it with some acrobatic saves in goal, then another free kick was launched toward goal by Jake, Shaun pinched it on the line giving him his second.

Marlbro were rattled and it showed at a corner when Harry was knocked flying. The ref showed red and we should have romped away. However Marlbro were not out of it yet and scored again to take it to 2 all. There followed a penalty to thornhill that Chris narrowly missed. A draw looked on the cards when Anthony broke from defence on the right and played a through ball to James M on the wing. James hit the ball from range and incredibly it hit the far post and went in. The final few minutes were nail biting but we hung on to get the victory.

Well done lads a fantastic and well earned victory.

Thornhill B v Canton 6/2/10

Sorry this write up is so late, I'm afraid work is manic at the moment.

Thornhill started the game well with plenty of skilled play and this was a tight game throughout. Canton were playing well but our defence was solid and the football aws surprisingly good after such a long break. it was 20 minutes before the deadlock was broken by a Canton goal, luckily this didn't cause thornhill heads to drop and we kept going well. some great moves on the wing from Jake led to a close miss by Adam before the second by Canton.

The second half led to a Goal by Chris after a real goalmouth scramble. Canton got 2 more at the end but we played well for the full 80 minutes, well done to all of you.
